Ham And Bean Chili

Total Time: 50 mins Preparation Time: 30 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cubed cooked ham
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 28 ounces diced tomatoes
  • 16 ounces kidney beans
  • 15 ounces black beans
  • 15 ounces pinto beans
  • 8 ounces picante sauce
  • 8 ounces tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 1/4 ounces sliced black olives
  • 1 teaspoon beef bouillon granules
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper

Recipe

  • 1 in a large saucepan, cook the ham, onions and garlic in oil until tender.
  • 2 stire in tomatoes, beans, picante sauce, tomato sauce and water (if desired).
  • 3 bring to a boil.
  • 4 stir in olives, bouillon, thyme, salt and pepper.
  • 5 reduce heat and simmer, uncovered for 15-20 minutes.
  • 6 garnish with shredded cheddar cheese if desired.
