Boston Baked Beans

Ingredients

- 2 cups small beans (navy beans)
- 6 cups water
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup salt lamb, cubes
- 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
Recipe
- 1 soak beans overnight. place beans in kettle with 6 cups water. add salt.
- 2 bring to boil, reduce heat, cover and simmer until tender, about 2 hours.
- 3 mix beans and all cooking water in baking dish with salt lamb, brown sugar,.
- 4 molasses, and dry mustard.
- 5 cover and bake beans at 225 degrees f. for 6 to 8 hours or more. check often to see if more water is needed.
