Chole Masala

Ingredients

- 1 cup chickpeas
- 1 green chili, slit
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 2 1/2 cups water
- 1 medium onion
- 5 cloves garlic
- 3 cm ginger
- 3 tablespoons water
- 3 tablespoons oil
- 1 teaspoon cumin seed
- 2 teaspoons coriander powder
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 2 teaspoons cumin powder
- 3 large tomatoes, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
Recipe
- 1 soak gram overnight and pressure cook with rest of ingredients till done.
- 2 grind the paste with water.
- 3 heat oil in a wok add cumin seeds.
- 4 when they splutter add the ground paste and stir constantly till brown.
- 5 add coriander,chilli and cumin powder.
- 6 add tomatoes and fry until oil seperates.
- 7 add cooked gram and garam masala.
- 8 simmer for 5-10 minute.
- 9 garnish with lemon slices.
