My Favorite Chili

Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup chopped green pepper
- 1 1/2-2 tablespoons chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground pepper
- 1 dash ground oregano
- 2 (16 ounce) cans kidney beans, drained
Recipe
- 1 cook ground beef and onion in dutch oven until beef is browned, stirring to crumble.
- 2 add remaining ingredients, except beans.
- 3 cover and simmer 20 minutes.
- 4 stir in beans and continue to cook, covered, 45 minutes.
- 5 remove cover and cook 15 minutes more.
- 6 makes 2 quarts.
