Low-fat Chili

Total Time: 50 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground sirloin
  • 2 (26 ounce) jars low-sugar spaghetti sauce
  • 2 (15 1/4 ounce) cans black beans
  • 1 (14 1/2 ounce) can light red kidney beans
  • 1 (14 1/2 ounce) can chili ready diced tomatoes
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons cumin
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder

Recipe

  • 1 drain and rinse all the beans.
  • 2 in a medium soup pot, brown the beef, drain, and set aside.
  • 3 add olive oil to pan; sweat garlic and onion. return beef to pot.
  • 4 add remaining ingredients and stir well.
  • 5 bring to a simmer over medium heat.
  • 6 reduce heat to low and simmer covered for 20-30 minutes.
