Laura's Beer Soup

Total Time: 1 hr 30 mins Preparation Time: 30 mins Cook Time: 1 hr

Ingredients

  • Servings: 16
  • 2 lbs lean ground beef
  • 6 cups water
  • 6 beef bouillon cubes
  • 2 (28 ounce) cans diced tomatoes
  • 2 (12 ounce) cans beer
  • 2 cups sliced carrots
  • 2 cups sliced onions
  • 2 cups sliced celery
  • 2 cups sliced turnips
  • 2 cups sliced potatoes
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 2 (10 ounce) packages frozen cut green beans
  • 1 cup spaghetti, broken into 1 inch pieces

Recipe

  • 1 brown the ground beef in a very large pot. drain well.
  • 2 add liquid ingredients, bouillon cubes and seasonings.
  • 3 add vegetables according to length of time they take to cook. (e.g. turnips, potatoes and carrots before onions).
  • 4 cook on low for awhile until vegetables are soft.
  • 5 add green beans, spaghetti and beer towards the end of cooking.
