Harira

Total Time: 1 hr 15 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 1 hr

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 shallot, chopped (or more if you like)
  • 1 garlic clove, chopped (or more if you like)
  • 1 1/4 cups green lentils
  • 14 ounces chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 14 ounces diced tomatoes
  • 1 1/2 cups vegetable stock
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon ginger
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Recipe

  • 1 fry onions in oil until lightly browned.
  • 2 add shallot, garlic, onion, spices, lentils, tomatoes and vegetable stock.
  • 3 simmer for 30 minutes.
  • 4 add chickpeas.
  • 5 simmer for 30 minutes.
  • 6 enjoy!
