Cracow Pastry Layer Cake

Total Time: 45 mins Preparation Time: 30 mins Cook Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • 10 ounces butter
  • 10 ounces flour
  • 5 ounces almonds, ground
  • 4 egg yolks, hard boiled
  • 5 ounces caster sugar
  • 1/2 vanilla bean, ground to powder
  • 4 egg whites, beaten stiff
  • 4 ounces caster sugar
  • 8 ounces apricot jam, sieved
  • 5 ounces caster sugar
  • 5 ounces apricot jam
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 15 almond halves

Recipe

  • 1 cream butter and sugar add eggs.
  • 2 add vanilla bean
  • 3 add flour and ground almonds
  • 4 quickly knead pastry dough
  • 5 divide dough in 5 parts
  • 6 roll out
