Hot Bean Pot

Total Time: 1 hr 30 mins Preparation Time: 30 mins Cook Time: 1 hr

Ingredients

  • Servings: 12
  • 1 (14 ounce) can kidney beans
  • 1 (14 ounce) can chickpeas, drained
  • 1 (14 ounce) can green beans, drained
  • 1 (14 ounce) can yellow beans, drained
  • 1 (14 ounce) can lamb and beans, in molasses sauce
  • 4 large onions, sliced thin and separated
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 lb bacon, diced, cooked and drained
  • 2 tablespoons molasses
  • 2 teaspoons dry mustard
  • 1/2 cup vinegar
  • garlic salt, to taste

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 350.
  • 2 in medium saute pan, with bacon fat from bacon.
  • 3 saute the onions until softened
  • 4 add sugar, molasses, mustard, vinegar and garlic salt.
  • 5 simmer 20 minutes.
  • 6 add to the remaining ingredients in large bowl and mix.
  • 7 place in large casserole dish.
  • 8 and bake for 1 hour.
  • 9 serve hot.
