Ma-po Tofu

Total Time: 15 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 10 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 2
  • 10 ounces silken tofu, cut into small pieces
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1 teaspoon minced fresh ginger
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1/4 lb ground sirloin
  • 1 tablespoon spicy bean paste
  • 1/2 cup strong beef stock
  • 1/2 tablespoon tamari
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon potato starch
  • 1 small sichuan pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 2 stalks chopped spring onions

Recipe

  • 1 heat oil and saute ginger and garlic until bouquet is released. add ground sirloin and cook just until no longer pink. stir in bean paste and mix well.
  • 2 add tofu and stir until blended. add stock, tamari and sugar; mix well.
  • 3 thicken with potato starch mixed with a little bit of water. add pepper, spring onion and sesame oil. stir and serve.
