Elementary School Chili

Total Time: 2 hrs 30 mins Preparation Time: 30 mins Cook Time: 2 hrs

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 2 lbs ground chuck
  • 1 (28 ounce) can whole tomatoes, crushed
  • 1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 4 tablespoons flour
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 (15 ounce) can mild chili beans, crushed
  • 7 cups water

Recipe

  • 1 brown the ground chuck in skillet and pour off excess grease.
  • 2 stir in flour and brown sugar.
  • 3 combine tomatoes, tomato paste, and chili beans.
  • 4 place all ingredients into a 2 quart cooking pot, adding the onions, chili powder and salt.
  • 5 cook over low heat for at least 2 hours.
