Garbanzo Beans (chole)

Ingredients

- 1 (16 ounce) can garbanzo beans
- 1 tablespoon ghee or 1 tablespoon oil
- 1 onion, roughly diced
- 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
- 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup tomato, diced
- 1 teaspoon cumin powder
- 1 teaspoon turmeric
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- coriander leaves
- lemon slice
Recipe
- 1 sauté onions, add garlic and ginger in ghee.
- 2 fry for about 5 minutes.
- 3 add tomatoes, and cumin, coriander, turmeric and chili powders, and salt to taste.
- 4 cook for another 5 minutes.
- 5 add garbanzo beans, boil for a few minutes.
- 6 add garam masala, let mixture simmer.
- 7 remove from stove.
- 8 serve garnished with coriander leaves and lemon slices.
