Kim's Chili Mac

Total Time: 50 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 1 1/2 lbs ground beef
  • seasoning salt
  • 1 (7 1/4 ounce) box macaroni and cheese mix
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon butter (or what ever amounts the box calls for)
  • 2 slices american cheese
  • 1 (15 ounce) can pinto beans, drained
  • 1 (15 ounce) can tomatoes and green chilies (or plain if you like)
  • 1 (1 ounce) package of your favorite chili seasoning mix
  • 8 ounces cheddar cheese or 8 ounces monterey jack cheese, shredded

Recipe

  • 1 brown ground beef and season with season salt.
  • 2 drain well after browning meat.
  • 3 return to skillet.
  • 4 cook mac & cheese according to the directions on the box.
  • 5 when the mac & cheese is done stir in 2 american cheese singles.
  • 6 when cheese is melted add the mac & cheese to the ground beef.
  • 7 drain pinto beans and add to mix.
  • 8 add tomatoes and green chilies.
  • 9 add chili seasoning packet; stir well.
  • 10 let simmer for 10 to 20 minutes.
  • 11 or until throughly heated, stirring well in between.
  • 12 then top with cheese and cover with lid until cheese is melted.
