Baked Beans

Total Time: 26 hrs Preparation Time: 12 hrs Cook Time: 14 hrs

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 1 lb dried navy beans or 1 lb dried great northern beans
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 lb salt lamb, diced
  • 1 cup onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper

Recipe

  • 1 rinse beans and pick over.
  • 2 bring beans and 8 cups of water to a boil.
  • 3 reduce heat, simmer covered for 1 1/2 hours.
  • 4 pour beans and liquid into a bowl; cover and refrigerate overnight.
  • 5 drain beans, reserving 1 cup of liquid.
  • 6 place beans and reserved liquid in crock pot.
  • 7 stir in remaining ingredients.
  • 8 cover and cook on low for 12 to 14 hours.
  • 9 stir before serving.
