Chili Con Carne Iii

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, peeled and crushed
  • 2 teaspoons tomato paste
  • 2 tablespoons butter, cut into pieces
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano, crushed
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1 (14.5 ounce) can whole peeled tomatoes with liquid, chopped
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 (15.25 ounce) can kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • salt to taste
  • ground black pepper to taste

    Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 25 mins Ready Time: 45 mins

  • in a large skillet over medium heat, combine onion, garlic, and tomato paste. cover and cook for 5 minutes.
  • stir in butter until melted. stir in flour, oregano, cumin, chili powder, tomatoes and beef. cook uncovered for 8 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • stir in the beans and cook for another 4 minutes, stirring occasionally. salt and pepper to taste.
