Homemade Refried Beans

Ingredients

  • Servings: 2
  • 1 (15 1/2 ounce) can pinto beans
  • 1/2 medium onion, chopped
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup cheddar cheese, shredded

Recipe

  • 1 in a small saucepan, bring beans to a boil.
  • 2 drain excess liquied and discard.
  • 3 put beans in a medium size bowl and beat with electric mixture until mashed.
  • 4 stir in onion, butter and soy sauce.
  • 5 return bean mixture to small saucepan over low heat and stir until heated through.
  • 6 stir in cheddar cheese.
