Lentil Patties

Ingredients
- 1 cup brown lentils
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 egg
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon thyme
- breadcrumbs
- oil (for frying)
Recipe
- 1 boil lentils in pot of water until soft.
- 2 beat egg, add salt, thyme, turmeric and chopped onion.
- 3 add drained lentils, stir thoroughly and add sufficient breadcrumbs to make a fairly solid consistency.
- 4 shape into rissoles.
- 5 chill covered in fridge approximately 30 minutes.
- 6 heat oil. fry until golden brown.
