Grandma's Lebanese Green Beans

Ingredients
- Servings: 4
- 1 lb fresh green beans, break in half and remove stems
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 3 large garlic cloves, minced
- 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1 cup tomato sauce (i think grandma used prego's old world style)
- 1 cup water
- 1 vine ripened tomato, diced
- salt and pepper (don't skimp on the salt)
Recipe
- 1 in a medium sized saucepan, saute the garlic and onions in olive oil until the onions become translucent.
- 2 add the beans, cover, and allow them to steam in their own moisture for about 15 minutes.
- 3 add 1 cup water, tomatoes, tomato sauce, cover, and cook for 30 minutes.
- 4 add salt and pepper to taste.
